The mission of The Successful Diabetic is to educate diabetics and non-diabetics alike about how to take control of life with diabetes and make it an exciting, rewarding experience. Diabetes can be pretty sinister. The results of mismanagement won’t show immediately and simply taking your medication isn’t enough. Testing once a week isn’t enough. It will forestall things but it won’t prevent the complications you’re destined for. There is no getting around it…… poor blood glucose control WILL result in complications and as complications start to develop, it will be harder to put things on your side. This website's intention is to help you understand all aspects of good blood glucose control by providing a site that gives you access to the latest research, lessons learned from my personal experience, and resources such as children's camps and community forums. In other words, a foundation of knowledge. We are not a replacement or a substitute for your doctor's medical advice.
